Ingredients to make No-Bake Energy Bites.

Tips

  • An electric or hand mixer speeds up the process and ensures even mixing; a sturdy spoon works fine if you prefer.
  • Use a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop for uniform bites and faster rolling.
  • If you prefer bars, press the mixture into an 8×8-inch pan, chill, and cut into squares instead of rolling.

How to Make No-Bake Energy Bites

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except the chocolate chips. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.

  • Once set, transfer the bites to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.

Mix-Ins and Substitutions

  • Oats: Use quick oats for a smoother texture or old-fashioned oats for a chewier bite.
  • Flaxseed: Replace the ground flax with 1/3 cup chia seeds, 1/2 cup hemp seeds, oat bran, or wheat germ if preferred.
  • Nut butter: Swap peanut butter for almond butter or a seed butter, or combine two for varied flavor.
  • Sweets and syrups: Maple syrup or agave can replace honey at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Alternate mix-ins (use up to 1/2 cup): chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, mini candies, dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, dried blueberries), shredded coconut, chopped nuts (peanuts, almonds, pecans), or seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame).
  • Spices: Add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or a pinch of pumpkin pie spice for seasonal warmth.

Storage and Freezing

Refrigerator: Store energy bites in a sealed container with parchment layers for up to two weeks.

Freezer: Flash-freeze the bites in a single layer on a parchment-lined sheet for 1 hour, then transfer to a freezer-safe container or bag. Freeze for up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or let sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before serving.
