Steak (Diane) Diana

Aptly named after my mom, Diana!
Course: Entrée
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 steaks your choice for grilling
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3/4 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced green onions
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  • Season the steaks with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then grill them to your preferred doneness. After grilling, let the steaks rest for a few minutes so the juices redistribute. While they rest, prepare the Steak Diana sauce as described below.
  • Steak Diana Sauce: In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms, green onions and chopped parsley and sauté until the mushrooms are tender and the onions are softened. Stir in the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard and salt. Continue sautéing for about 10 minutes so the flavors meld and the sauce reduces slightly. Spoon the sauce generously over the plated steaks and serve immediately. Enjoy!
