Day 3: Cocoa-Dusted Snickerdoodles + Giveaway

My friends at Krusteaz sent a generous holiday package filled with cookie mixes and decorating tools to help make seasonal baking simple and fun. I used the Krusteaz Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix to create these cocoa-coated snickerdoodles, and they turned out beautifully.

The mix makes the process easy: you only need to add butter and an egg. The cinnamon-sugar topping is included in the box; I simply stirred a tablespoon of cocoa powder into it to give the cookies a subtle chocolate note and a richer appearance.

I enjoyed giving a small twist to a classic—snickerdoodles are already perfect, so I kept the change simple. The cocoa deepened the coating’s color and added a faint chocolate undertone without overpowering the cinnamon flavor. I made the cookies smaller so they would fit nicely into mason jars as homemade gifts. My husband plans to take the whole batch to work tomorrow to share with his coworkers—after all, they make great cookie testers.
